Hand washing
Dusted, submerged, brushed with wool-safe soap and dried flat in air. No chemical stripping, no rotary machines — both of which flatten pile and dull natural dyes permanently.

Restoration
Reweaving, selvedge repair, fringe rebuilding and pile matching, done by hand in matched hand-spun wool. We photograph every stage and return the rug with a written record.

Appraisal
A written valuation for insurance or estate purposes: origin, age, knot density, condition grading and replacement value, with photographs of the back and edges.
Care, in four habits
- Rotate twice a year
- Even sunlight and footfall keep colour and pile consistent across the field.
- Vacuum without a beater bar
- Suction only, and never over the fringe — it tears the warp ends.
- Blot, don't rub
- Press with a white cloth from the outside in. Rubbing pushes the spill into the foundation.
- Use a felt underlay
- It stops slippage, softens footfall and adds years to the life of the knots.
